Our Storytellers:
John Donahue A lifelong collector of tales from far-flung travels, John shares stories rooted in myth, history, and lived experience. His storytelling blends wisdom and humor, drawing from multicultural traditions and a well-traveled “story bag” filled with surprises.
Allie Tibbetts (Aningkamwishgan) is a poet and children's book author from Nagaajiwanaang, Fond du Lac Reservation. Ajijaakwan odoodeman. Allie resides with her daughter, Zaagi, in Duluth, near the big lake where they belong. Allie is deeply committed to Ojibwe language revitalization and works with children to keep the language vibrant and alive.
Elizabeth Nordell believes story is at the heart of humanness. She has told and taught storytelling across the country and internationally, organizing events such as Tellabration, Courageous Stories and Tender Tales, and the Food and Farming Story Tent. When she’s not storytelling, she’s immersed in her favorite ongoing story—life with Rudy, Ella, and Popo.
WonderWeavers Award-winning storytellers Tina Rohde and Colleen Shaskin bring more than two decades of experience creating engaging performances for youth, families, and adults. Their storytelling incorporates puppets, simple costumes, songs, and audience participation, inviting listeners of all ages to exercise imagination and creative energy.
