It’s a Good Friday indeed for an alternative drag competition for Queens, Kings, Things, & More to outperform each other in 3 categories on their way to the title of The Midwest Menace’s 1st Rebel Royalty. Join us 9PM on April 3rd at The Comet for a night of the tri-state’s best. Hosted by Eve Kennedy with judges Zarah Fever, Kyara Koko, & Modi, with music curated by Eve Kennedy & spun by DJ Pierce Collier. The pageant is accepting up to 10 contestants. This is first come first served based on who pays the 50$ entry fee. Once you’ve paid to enter there is no refund on the entry fee. The winner of Rebel Royalty will receive a 100$ cash prize, crown & sash, 2 paid bookings with The Midwest Menace, a photoshoot by Eve Kennedy, & a complimentary head spa service from Braxton Hairstylist.

Category 1: Glamour Punk
Become a Westwood dream by wearing a look that combines the punk subculture with haute couture fashion design. Perform a number of your choosing (mix or individual song up to 4 & a half minutes) in this outfit that embodies the defiant nature of the punk rock spirit. This category is judged equally 50/50 between the look & performance.
Category 2: Beautifully Macabre
Wear a look that is hauntingly gorgeous. It should have qualities that are equally as uncanny, sinister, & creepy as it is etherial, elegant, & luxurious. Perform the number of your choosing (mix or individual song up to 4 & a half minutes) that embodies these same characteristics. This category is judged equally 50/50 between the look & performance.
Category 3: Corpse Of The Crown
Wear a look to be crowned in that embodies why you deserve to be Rebel Royalty. This look should be your signature style at its most heightened form combined with ornate regality. Bring the long dead royals back to life with this look. You will model your outfit & field questions from the judges during the Q&A portion of our pageant. This category is judged equally 50/50 between the look & Q&A.
The contestants with the 2 highest combined scores across all categories will be advanced to perform 1 final time in this look. The winner of The Midwest Menace: Rebel Royalty will be determined by how you’ve done overall in the categories as well as who outperformed who during the final head to head lipsync battle to the song Doomsday - Lizzie McAlpine.
