The Old Testament is full of violence. The God who commands genocide. The God who drowns an army. The God who sends bears to maul children.
If you’ve ever read the Old Testament and thought “that doesn’t sound anything like Jesus” … you’re not alone. Christians have wrestled with that tension for two thousand years — wars, judgments, and commands that are hard to square with the Jesus who said love your enemies.
Our first Midweek Bible Lecture on Wednesday, July 29, is an honest look at those texts, built around one big idea that will help the Old Testament makes sense. Spoiler Alert: It starts at the cross.
Led by Forrest Jenan and Jordan Brokaw, our Midweek Bible Lecture Series is a night to actually sit and learn. Bring a friend, come with questions, and leave with a more grounded faith.
Childcare is available for children up through 6th grade.

What is the Midweek Bible Lecture Series?
Once a month, we’re setting aside a weeknight for something different than a Sunday morning.
The Midweek Bible Lecture Series is an opportunity to slow down and actually dig into the questions that don’t always fit into a 35-minute sermon. No band, no lights … just an honest conversation about the parts of the Bible that are confusing, uncomfortable, or just deserve more time than a Sunday allows.
Each month brings a new topic. There’s no attendance requirement. Bring a friend and come curious.
