Zenith and Zen Midland Area Championships 2026 at Carsington Sailing Club.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Carsington Sailing Club for the first Zenith and Zen Open Meeting at Carsington Sailing Club– and this one is extra special, as it will also be the inaugural Midland Area Championships for both classes!
Friday 24th July – Training Day
The weekend begins with an optional training day starting at 12:30pm. We'll kick off with an informal round-table coffee discussion covering:
• What's working to make your Zenith go faster
• Key takeaways from Steve's recent onshore training session at Blithfield Sailing Club
• Tips, ideas and experiences from fellow sailors
We'll then head out on the water for a practical session designed to help you get used to sailing at Carsington Water. There will be plenty of opportunities to experiment with rig settings, boat handling and tactics while sailing close to other boats – with lots of communication and shared learning encouraged.
The session will be led by Stephen Blake, RYA Race Coach and Zenith sailor. Some of you may already know Stephen from the first Zenith Open Meeting at Burton Sailing Club earlier this year.
 Friday Evening
If there's enough interest, we'll arrange for a fish and chip supper to be delivered to the club. The bar will, of course, be open!
 Arrival and Camping
• Boats can be dropped off on Thursday 23rd July until 5:00pm.
• Stephen will be on site from 9:30am on Friday and throughout the entire three-day event.
• Please note that the club gates are locked at 9:00pm if you're arriving later on Friday.
• Limited campervan spaces are available on Friday and Saturday nights, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
If you prefer other accommodation, there are plenty of nearby campsites, Airbnbs and hotels listed on the club website.
 Entries Now Open
Our event entry page is now live, complete with an early-bird discount. It would be fantastic to know how many of you are planning to join us.

 Saturday Evening Dinner
We'll be hosting a Saturday night dinner at the club. Please book and pay by 23rd July if you'd like to attend.
 Racing
The Notice of Race is available on the entry page. We'll be sailing six races in total, with the first race scheduled for 12:55pm on Saturday 25th July.
We're aiming to make this the biggest Zenith and Zen Open Meeting yet. We'll also be joined by the Solution class for their Open Meeting, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Zenith and Zen fleets to an even wider audience.
We can't wait to welcome you to Carsington for what promises to be a brilliant weekend of racing, learning and great company. See you on the water!
