New Cumberland Music + Film Festival is opening on Friday, Sept. 5, with critical darling "MIDDLETOWN."
This award-winning documentary focuses on a group of teenagers inspired by an unconventional teacher in upstate New York in the early 90’s. As they set out to make a student film, they uncover a conspiracy that is poisoning their town. 30 years later, they revisit their film and the legacy of this transformative experience.
Fred Isseks, the film’s lead and a Sundance crowd favorite, will be in attendance and will join a Q&A following the screening. "Middletown" was named winner of the 2025 Documentary Feature Audience Award at the Nantucket Film Festival, and is currently sitting at a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
