*NOTE: Workshop is free. Registration is required.*
What does your style say about you?
Join us at Calliope Stage for Finding Your Personal Style, a FREE creative fashion workshop for upper middle school and high school students led by WCU teaching artist Niyah.
Personal style is one way we communicate who we are—through color, shape, texture, clothing, accessories, and the choices we make about how we present ourselves.
In this 90-minute workshop, participants will explore what inspires their individual sense of style and create a personal look book or mood board that captures the colors, shapes, clothing, and aesthetics they love. They’ll then consider practical ways to bring that inspiration into their own wardrobes before finishing with a hands-on fashion design project that puts their ideas into action.
Fashion connects naturally to the arts because it involves many of the same creative tools: visual storytelling, character, composition, mood, and point of view. Whether you’re interested in fashion, costume design, theatre, visual art, photography, or simply figuring out what feels most like *you*, this workshop is a chance to experiment and create.
No previous fashion or design experience is required.
