Welcome to MIDC's 4th Annual Upper Peninsula Conference!
The Michigan Indigent Defense Commission is pleased to offer this meeting and training for all people working in public defense in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Welcome, introductions, and setting the objectives for the day (Marla McCowan, MIDC Deputy Director and Training Director)
10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. - Well Being In the Law Commission Updates (Marla McCowan, MIDC Deputy Director and Training Director)
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Holistic Representation Panel Discussion (Dana Selin, Athena Kheibari, and Dan Ellman)
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - networking/lunch (lunch provided, please let us know any dietary restrictions)
1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Statewide innovations in public defense (Melissa Wangler, MIDC Senior Regional Manager)
1:30 p.m. - 2:00p.m. - Best Practices (Lauren Calef, MIDC Northern Michigan Regional Manager)
2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Brainstorming Solutions (Led by Patrick Crowley and discussion moderated by Marla McCowan)
The sessions will be facilitated by MIDC Staff and up to 5.5 hours of CLE towards MIDC Standard 1 requirements will be awarded to attorneys for attendance at all sessions.
