Welcome to MIDC's 3rd Annual Upper Peninsula Conference!

The Michigan Indigent Defense Commission is pleased to offer this meeting and training for all people working in public defense in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

1 0 - 10:45 a.m. - Welcome, introductions, and setting the objectives for the day (Marla McCowan, MIDC Deputy Director and Training Director)

1 0:45 a.m. - 12: 15 p.m. - Trauma informed representation (Susan Prentice-Sao, MIDC Program Manager, Youth Defense Training)

12:15 - 1:15 p.m. - networking/lunch (lunch provided, please let us know any dietary restrictions)

1:15 - 2:00 p.m. - Statewide innovations in public defense (Melissa Wangler, MIDC Senior Regional Manager)

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Overview of plans in Northern MI and implementing new standards (Lauren Calef, MIDC Northern Michigan Regional Manager)

The sessions will be facilitated by MIDC Staff and up to 5 hours of CLE towards MIDC Standard 1 requirements will be awarded to attorneys for attendance at all sessions.
