A tribute to American resilience, history, and creativity! We open with Hailstork’s Fanfare on Amazing Grace and Gould’s rousing American Salute. Patricia Leonard’s My Dearest Friend offers a touching glimpse into the letters of John and Abigail Adams, leading into Copland’s powerful Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Rev. Alvie Young. Contemporary voices shine in Laura Karpman’s All American and Ivan Trevino’s Run to the Light, featuring MTS Principal Percussionists Sherry Rubins and Paul Millette. The concert closes with patriotic favorites, joined by members of the United States Air Force Band of the West.
