Mid-Michigan Spartans Give Green Day Initiative

The Mid-Michigan Spartans have a plan to raise $10,000 for our MSU scholarship funds during MSU's next Give Green Day on March 11, 2025. Information on our university-managed scholarships can be found on the MidMichiganSpartans(dot)com website under the "INVEST" tab.

We are testing using Eventbrite to track individual intentions to support our scholarship funds for this traditional campus-wide fundraising event. "Tickets" have been created for various fundraising amounts. NO money is to be paid at this time.

Here's how it works. If you would like to contribute to our club's scholarship funds on Give Green Day, select a ticket option that best represents your intended gift. You are NOT required to make this gift. You will NOT receive a bill. Ticket reservations will help our club leaders assess our progress towards our $10K goal ahead of Give Green Day. A few days before March 11, and on the actual day, you will receive a reminder email to participate in the event with a giving link to our scholarship funds from MSU that accepts online payments. If you make a gift, you will receive donor credit and a tax receipt from Michigan State University. Our club will not handle these funds at any time.

Below is an outline of a possible path to the $10,000 that we are using to attempt to surpass our goal. The ticket options align with these options. An additional 'other' ticket option is available. Your ticket choice is not displayed publicly. Our club leadership will be the only individuals who know the names and indicated dollar amounts of participants.

1+ donor - $1,855+ *This gift amount honors MSU's 1855 founding

5+ donors - $500 ($2,500+)

11+ donors - $170 ($1,500+) *This gift amount honors MSU's 170th birthday in 2025

15+ donors - $100 ($1,500+) *This gift amount meets MSU's "Spartan Loyal" threshold

25+ donors - $50 ($1,250+)

50+ donors - $25 (1,250+)

The above totals $10,225+.

All contributions matter. Keeping gifts at $25+ helps MSU justify associated credit card processing fees. If you are moved to indicate that you'll be supporting our scholarships for Give Green Day, your responses will be helpful and encouraging.

NOTE: It is possible we will host an actual event on March 11 for local Spartans to come together for fundraising and fellowship. Last year, the Mid-Michigan Spartans hosted a Euchre Tournament on Give Green Day. We're evaluating options for 2025.
