About this Event
We want to present you the culture and customs of the other half of the world. The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is an ancient celebration observed across many East and Southeast Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, and Malaysia. It falls on the night of the full moon in autumn, which is seen as a symbol of reunion, gratitude, and harvest.
During this festival, families and friends come together to admire the bright full moon, enjoy mooncakes (a traditional pastry), and light lanterns. Lanterns represent hope, light, and togetherness, as they guide loved ones through the night and symbolize wishes for a bright future.
At our workshop, you’ll learn the history and legends behind the festival, create your own beautifully decorated lantern, and meet people from different cultural backgrounds !
