Scope
This meeting aims to bring together scientists from Germany and abroad to discuss the latest results and developments in the field of bacterial and archaeal cell biology. It covers the full breadth of this research area, including topics such as:
- Cell wall biosynthesis & cell division
- DNA organization & dynamics
- Membrane compartments, microcompartments & biomolecular condensates
- Secretion systems & cell motility
- Cellular signalling, cell cycle regulation & development
- Metabolic superstructures
- Multicellular organization
- Imaging techniques
- etc
Program
The scientific program comprises five sessions with talks given by international keynote speakers as well as speakers selected on the basis of submitted abstracts. A poster session will provide additional opportunities for scientific discussions. Moreover, early-career scientists will have the ability to interact with invited speakers in Meet-the-Speakers sessions.

A detailed program will be available about four weeks before the start of the meeting.
Venue
The meeting will take place at the "Alter Behring-Gutshof", a historic manor house close to the city center of Marburg that has been remodeled into an event and conference location. It offers a cozy and interactive environment that fosters interactions among the participants.
Please note that, due to its historic nature, the conference venue is not fully barrier-free.

The registration deadline is: August 24, 2026
The conference fees are
- 180 € for PhD and undergraduate students
- 290 € for group leaders, postdocs and industry representatives
The fees include coffee breaks as well as lunches and dinners at the conference venue.

Abstract submission
The abstract submission deadline is: August 24, 2026

Travel
Marburg can be easily reached by train or car. The nearest airport is Frankfurt (FRA), from where there are regular train services to Marburg via Frankfurt Central Station.
Accomodation
Marburg offers a good selection of hotels, guesthouses, and B&Bs, as well as a newly constructed youth hostel. Early booking is recommended to guarantee affordable accommodation near the venue.
