Build a landscape for your microbes and then use colored microbes to make an artwork of your own design!
About this Event

Join us to learn all about microbes, their environments, and how we can engineer them to produce an array of beautiful and striking colors. You will be able to use the tools and guidance provided by BUGSS to create your very own environment for your microbes to live and then to create a living work of art on agar plates!

This class is part of a research study funded by the National Science Foundation (Award #: 2415876) that seeks to understand the learning affordances and constraints of doing hands-on, modern life science in informal learning environments. We are hoping to have middle school students attend with at least one friend or family member! So, please buy a ticket for each participant. Parents/guardians will be asked to complete a research consent form that will come to you separately by email. Participants who complete the research forms and participate in the class will receive a $20 gift card.
