Hey, this is Allan 'Big Al' Connolly and I have worked from Home for most of the 33 years I have been in Australia. As a Consultant I was able to Network in the traditional way at Business Association Networking Events all over Perth, but never really felt included as I did not have a Commercial Premise like many of the other Association members had, nor did I employ more than 10 people. (but, I did have over 100 subcontractors, and a $2,000,000 pa turnover)
I have been an Entrepreneurial Thinker since I was 8 years old and have owned and operated many traditional businesses and won many awards. I have also represented Entrepreneurial organisations such as Entrepreneur Cafe and Global Entrepreneurship Network, leading delegations to India, Thailand, USA, Turkey, and Bahrain.
Back in 2020, I founded Kommuniti HQ and began getting to know my neighbours in Kingsley, both online and offline. I built a membership base of over 1500 neighbours using the Nextdoor App, where we shared recommendations, kept Neighbourhood Watch, and chatted about our neighbourhood in general.
We then created an initiative we call Kommuniti Cafe, and supported the local Dome Coffee shop by bringing our neighbours together for a chat, once a month at first, but then grew to twice a month and multiple locations. This has expanded into another initiative we have named Neighbourly Nights, an after-work hours Social that supports local small restaurants on a usually quieter Wednesday evening.
Over the next 12 months, we will begin hosting a series of Entrepreneurship, Micro/Small/Home Business Networking Events in the City of Joondalup CBD to encourage patronage at one of the CBD's Small Bars and to support YOU small business owners.... The Backbone of the Australian Economy, we look forward to forging a strong network with you.
