What to Expect:
Micro is an approach to fusion dance that emphasizes intentionality in movement and the connection between dancers to co-create a musical conversation. We choose to move smaller to make the chosen movements more meaningful. As with all fusion partner dancing, each dance blends the backgrounds of both dancers to create a unique experience. Our lessons will cover tools and essential techniques, such as proper compression based frame, non-traditional connection points, and varied micro movement aesthetics to ensure each dance is comfortable and safe. No partner or prior dance experience is required. However, taking at least one micro lesson before attending a social is highly recommended.
Micro Fusion will be held in the Backroom at the same time as regular Fusion on the main floor. All are welcome to move freely between the two spaces throughout the night.
7:00PM - 8:00PM Micro aesthetics fusion lesson with Alex Cabaluna
8:00PM - 11:00PM Fusion Dancing on the Main Floor with DJ’s Karina Herman & Raven Wilson
9:30PM - 11:00PM Micro in the Backroom w/ DJ Alex Cabaluna
Cost:
$5 Main Floor Lesson
$15-20 sliding scale for both Main Floor and Backroom Social Dancing
$80 for a 30 day pass, includes all fusion & blues events!
**Micro Lesson and Social is included with regular fusion admission**
**Some Blind folds will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring and use your own if you wish**
