Mickalene Thomas Solo Exhibition at the Shepherd

Library Street Collective is pleased to present, Beneath the Moonlight, a solo presentation of new work by Mickalene Thomas at the Shepherd. The opening reception on June 6 from 6–8 PM. Additional public programming will follow on June 7, including a conversation between Thomas and curator Dexter Wemberly, as well as a special music performance to be announced soon.
The exhibition marks a milestone for Thomas, introducing an entirely new body of work that expands her practice into an exploration of masculinity and the representation of the Black male body. Bringing together large-scale paintings, collage and photography, the exhibition reflects a pivotal shift in one of the most influential artistic practices in contemporary art.
