MICHIGAN'S SKIING LEGACY DOCUMENTARY - Michigan is celebrated as the birthplace of organized skiing in the United States. Since 1887, the town of Ishpeming has proven their resilience, year after year, during the harsh winter monthsby hosting the first ski jumping competition in the United States. One-hundred and thirty-eight years later, the tournament remains the oldest and longest running ski competition in the country, earning the city’s founding of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. This
documentary film explores the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the dedicated individuals who have pushed the sport to the next jump. Since the beginning, the sport has evolved in different directions, but the passion for gliding on snow remains the same. Prepare your skis, bundle up, and join us as we venture into the highlands of da U.P..
Doors open at 6pm. Movie starts at 7pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased online or in the box office.
