About this Event
** The University of Michigan ECMO simulation course has received ELSO step 2 endorsement for the purposes of pursuing ECMO certification through ELSO. Students are required to complete ELSO’s virtual Foundations course prior to arrival. Once registered for our simulation course, participants will receive an email containing a link for registering for ELSO Foundations at a discounted price.
Participants that do not complete ELSO Foundations prior to attending the SIM course will not be allowed to participate and will not be eligible for a tuition refund.***
Once both steps are completed, participants will be eligible to sit for the ELSO certification exam.

This course is intended for the whole ECMO care team; Physicians, Perfusionists, NP's, Nurses, Respiratory therapists, and PA's. Michigan Medicine Fall 2024 Simulation (Step 2) Adult ECMO Course

This course, in combination with ELSO foundations, is designed as an ECMO Specialist Training Course, incorporating every role for the treatment team including Physicians, Perfusionists, RN’s, Respiratory Therapists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, and is taught through both online learning modules, wet lab exercises, and high fidelity simulations.
As a result of completeting ELSO foundations and this simulation course, individuals will know and be able to implement into practice ECMO Techniques for initiating, managing, troubleshooting and discontinuing ECMO support.
The course fees are as follows:
Michigan Medicine - Internal Attendees - has a fee of $0
External Attendees - $1,875
ELSO Foundations sold separtely at a discounted rate. Course size is limited in order to enhance learning and participation. Reservations will be accepted with a completed, signed registration entry and payment on a first-come, first-serve basis until the course is full.
