In the ensuing bidding war following the phenomena of The Texas Campfire tapes, and standing her ground, she retained ownership of both recording masters and song copyrights, in a remarkable negotiation with Universal. A trilogy of Grammy-nominated albums, the Mercury Trilogy, was released over the next five years, launched by her signature song, "Anchorage."
Surviving a 13 year blacklist, activist & musician Michelle Shocked has emerged with the release of her audio memoir, Bootleg This!: Truth vs Reality v2.0. Forty years after her legendary bootleg debut, the Grammy winner returns with a vengeance.
