Malone is known for her emotionally direct writing, powerful vocals, and songs that balance grit with vulnerability. She’s an underground legend in the fabric of Georgia Music. She has been called "a satellite member" of the Indigo Girls by Amy Ray, a member of The Kristian Bush Band (Sugarland), performed with the Atlanta Symphony with Gregg Allman and Chuck Leavell of the Rolling Stones, and forged a career that's taken the award-winning songwriter around the world on her own solo career which is celebrating 40 years as of 2026. She may be the only musician to have toured with both ZZ Top and Ellen Degeneres. Malone’s powerful live shows are upbeat and authentic, engaging and satisfyingly soul stirring, flush with the raw energy and emotion that’s always been a part of her signature sound, which is just another reason why she is so revered. Malone's latest album, Southern Comfort, is a guitar-driven Southern Rock singer songwriter record cowritten in part with Dean Dillon of TN Whiskey fame, and features special guests Buddy Miller, Rick Richards (Georgia Satellites) Will Kimbrough (Emmylou Harris), Charlie Starr and Paul Jackson (Blackberry Smoke), and Randall Bramblett.
