Entering the 2025–26 NFL season, most observers expected either the Los Angeles Rams or the San Francisco 49ers to finish first in the NFC West, and many had the division-winner pegged for a spot in Super Bowl 60. After trading away their starting quarterback and top wide receiver, then signing free agent and onetime reclamation project Sam Darnold to take over under center, few believed the Seattle Seahawks had what it took to be a contender.

But the Seahawks believed.
