Mic'd Up

Run by youth in the Heartbeats Co-op Program & designed for youth! This open mic night invites youth ages 13 – 25 to share their voices and stories on stage. Whether through poetry, song, rap or comedy, performers are encouraged to showcase their talents and connect with a vibrant community of peers. All genres of performing arts are welcome!

ISIS VERNON

Isis Vernon is a budding poet, vocalist, and performer whose soulful presence is well

beyond her years. Currently a drama major entering Grade 11, Isis is already carving out

a unique artistic identity that blends vulnerability, strength, and style. Her voice—rich,

expressive, and full of soul—draws deep inspiration from legendary artists like Erykah

Badu and Lauryn Hill, while her original poetry and lyrics explore themes of self-

discovery, love, and resilience.

A natural storyteller, Isis channels her emotions through both the stage and the page.

Whether performing a heartfelt ballad or crafting a spoken-word piece, her work

resonates with honesty and depth. Outside of the studio and theatre, Isis finds grounding

in nature, often retreating to quiet spaces to reflect, reset, and reconnect with her creative

source.

With an evolving body of work and a deep passion for expression, Isis Vernon is a rising

artist to watch—bold, introspective, and beautifully authentic.
