Detroit singer-songwriter Mike Ward is known for his lyrically-centric, vocally-charged folk songs. While growing up in Port Huron, Michigan, he listened to the Irish music of his heritage and sang in several choirs before digesting the influential sounds of Simon & Garfunkel, Dylan, Springsteen and John Prine. These days, he finds inspiration in the works of Jason Isbell, Sarah Jarosz and Lori McKenna. His intimate songwriting echoes through empty city streets, back country roads and family portraits. It also resides in the hidden spaces between joy and tragedy, love and loss.
Mike has released five studio albums, “We Wonder” (2018) ,“The Darkness and The Light” (2021), "Career Advice" a single (2021),“Particles to Pearls” (June 2022), "Love Never Rests" (April 2023) and “Still Troubled” (2024).
RECOGNITIONS: Mike’s song “Currency of Forgiveness” is a finalist for the Rocky Mountain Songwriting Contest in Red Lodge, Montana. He was an honorable mention in the 2023 Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition and 2022 Great River Songwriting Competition plus multiple Detroit Music Award finalists. He performs regularly at listening room venues, coffeehouses, house shows and festivals throughout Michigan and the Midwest. Why Psychosongs? Well, his nickname as a hockey player is “PsychoWard”. Enough said.
Ashley Pyle is a singer-songwriter, transplanted from the PNW to the Midwest, ready and excited to spread her light as far as it will reach. Using snapshots of moments in her life, steeped in the mundane and the extreme, she curates stories to resonate with her listeners and let them know they’re not alone. Time spent with Ashley Pyle will yield a dichotomy of community- an intimate experience of widespread outreach.
