Participants will learn the practical skills to assist someone who is experiencing mental health problems or crisis.
About this Event

In the Mental Health First Aid course, participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Participants will learn the practical skills to assist someone who is experiencing mental health problems or crisis such as:

Developing Mental Health Problems

Depression
Anxiety
Psychosis
Substance Use Problems

Crisis Situations

Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
Panic Attacks
Severe effects of drug and alcohol abuse
Non-Suicidal Self Injury
Traumatic Events
Severe Psychotic States

The course is divided into 4 parts of 3 hours each.

We start on June 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm then we have a break from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The course ends that day at 8:00 pm.
On June 17, 2025, we start at 10:00 am. After a little refreshment at 1:00 pm we continue at 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
