Each year, during the first week of October, over 2,000 public power utilities across the country celebrate Public Power Week. MGED is proud to be one of the 40 public power utilities in Massachusetts that participate in this tradition.
Public Power means that your electric and natural gas utility is community-owned, locally governed, and focused on serving its customers—not driven by profit.
The priorities of public power utilities are simple:

- Locally-Owned

Join us on Friday, October 10th from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (Yes, it is a half day of school for Middleborough!)
at the Town Hall Parking Lot

Free Swag and Refreshments....and more fun for all ages!
Join us at 1:30pm for The Monster Detective Collective which features an interactive presentation that makes learning about power fun! Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of community power, an engaging activity sheet, and fun Monster Detective-themed stickers!
MGED is welcoming three new team members, and we need your help naming them!
You'll find our mascots at schools, safety demonstrations, community events, and more!
To enter: you must be a student in grades K-5 and a Middleborough Resident, and, of course, your parents' permission!
