Fall 2026 MPDP Adaptive Ice Skating Programs
Metro Parks disABILITIES Programs, in partnership with the Nashville Skating Academy, is excited to offer two Adaptive Ice Skating programs for Fall 2026. These free programs welcome adults age 18 and older of all abilities. No previous skating experience is required.
Beginners can learn foundational skating and ice-safety skills in a supportive environment. Returning skaters can continue developing balance, movement, confidence, and overall skating ability.
Two program locations are available:
- Adaptive Learn to Skate at Bellevue Ford Ice Center
- Adaptive Learn to Skate and Theater on Ice at Centennial Sportsplex
Registration covers the full Fall 2026. Participants may register for one location or both locations, but each person must complete an individual registration for every program they plan to attend.

Cost: Free
Eligibility: Adults age 18 and older
Experience level: All abilities and experience levels are welcome
Capacity: Limited to 25 registered participants per location
Equipment:
Skate rental is included.
Helmets are required and will be provided.
Participation:
Registration is required.
Only registered participants may take part in the program.
Each participant must register individually.

Centennial Sportsplex
The Centennial Sportsplex program includes Adaptive Learn to Skate and Theater on Ice.
Adaptive Learn to Skate helps participants build foundational skating, balance, movement, and ice-safety skills.
Theater on Ice gives skaters an opportunity to combine skating skills with movement, creativity, music, and group participation.

What Participants Will Learn
Participants will have opportunities to develop:
· Basic skating skills
· Ice-safety awareness
· Balance and movement on the ice
· Confidence entering and moving around the rink
· Skills for stopping, gliding, turning, and controlled movement
· Continued skill development for returning skaters
· Creative movement and group participation through Theater on Ice at Centennial Sportsplex
Instruction will support each participant’s individual comfort level, ability, and personal goals.
What to Wear
Ice rinks are cold. Participants should dress warmly and wear clothing that allows safe movement.
Please bring or wear:
· Long pants
· Socks
· Gloves
· A jacket or sweatshirt
· Warm, comfortable clothing
Registration Information
Separate tickets will be available for the Bellevue Ford Ice Center and Centennial Sportsplex programs.
Participants registering for both locations must select and complete a separate ticket for each location.
Each ticket registers the participant for the full Fall 2026 session at the selected location. Tickets are not issued for individual skating dates.
Space is limited to 25 participants per location. Early registration is encouraged.
