Join us for weekend workshop to make a Metis Ribbon Skirt with Lynne Joly-Davis. Lynne Joly-Davis a local Metis artist. She has been mentored by Elder Joyce from Wabasca, Felice Gladue from Beaumont and other talented artists. She has experience in beadwork, sewing, hide moccasins and mittens, as well as, other Metis historical arts.
What is a Metis Ribbon Skirt? A Metis Ribbon Skirt goes to the knee then another piece is added to the bottom to go to the mid calf or ankle. This piece of fabric is gathered to make it fuller at the bottom.
