This month the Mashers are heading to the Clifton Hill Brew Pub and this won't be your average brew club meeting. This is a 4-way, face-melting, head-to-head competition!
This month, eight Merri Mashers have stepped up to the stage and are going to try and blow the roof off with a brew that heroes one of beer’s four elemental forces: MALT, HOPS, YEAST, or ACID. All brewers were randomly assigned one of the four balance elements to showcase and at this meeting everyone who comes along will be part of the judging.
The beers are all based on Voyager Craft Malt’s 'Atlas' Pale Malt as a backbone and then each brewer has tried to highlight their 'balance element' with a beer that puts the assigned balance element in the spotlight and gives it a killer solo. The malt, hop, yeast and acid games the brewers are bringing to this meeting will bring fireworks, finesse, and full-on flavour harmony.
Thanks to Voyager for the malt and to Bluestone who have also kindly made a whole range of great yeasts available for the brewers to choose from.
Rock up any time from 6pm onwards and proceedings will kick off shortly after 7pm. We'll be up towards the back of the venue.
As with all club meetings please support the venue by ordering their beers at the start of the night (if you can).
Later, after the club updates, you're highly encouraged to share any home brew you’ve brought along. Sharing your creations is not only a tops thing to do but it’s a great way to get constructive feedback to improve your brewing.
