Mermaids Beach cleanup and Mermaids Swim πππ¬
Humans of all ages, divers and non -divers are welcome to join and help our beautiful mermiads to protect and preserve our beautiful WA coastline by doing beach cleanup at the Omeo Wreck (Coogee Maritime Diving Trail) on Saturday 7th November 2026 π³π¬π
Details:
* Meet at 9 am under the red shade at the right side of the beach stairs (as shown in the event photo).
* Beach cleanup time is between 9 am - 10 am.
* Take a group photo with the rubbish collected at 10 am.
* Mermaids swim is between 10 am - 11 am.
Please share this around to get a few more mers/humans to participating πππ
Safely Rules:
1. Bring your own Mertender/Spoter to keep you safe π¨βπ¬βοΈ
2. Swim at your own safety level and let your seasters know your swimming ability before entering the ocean π
3. Be SunSmart βοΈ
4. Reusable water bottle (no single-use plastic, please) π§
5. No glitters or any loose materials that can escape to the ocean π―
6. Enter and exit the ocean in pair. Keep checking with your buddy often for your both safety π―ββοΈ
7. Be sensible. Do not do anything that could cause harm to both yourself and others π¦Ί
8. If you can think of any more of safety rules please advise π₯°ππ»

Cleanup activities may involve hazards such as uneven surfaces, sharp debris, marine life, changing tides or weather conditions, and physical exertion. If you are participating in any underwater activities, you are responsible for ensuring you are properly certified, medically fit, and using appropriate equipment.
All volunteers are expected to follow safety instructions and environmental guidelines at all times.
By choosing to participate, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that the organizers, partners, and volunteers are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation.
We appreciate your support in helping protect our oceans and coastlines π³π¬π
