This Memorial Day, Meriden Pride will proudly march in the 2026 Meriden Memorial Day Parade to honor the LGBTQ+ service members who gave their lives in service to our country.For generations, countless queer Americans answered the call to serve while being forced to hide who they were. Many served with courage and sacrifice under policies and social pressures that denied them the freedom to live openly. Some never had the opportunity to share their truth before making the ultimate sacrifice.
As we march, we remember those heroes, the known and the unknown, whose bravery helped shape our nation while their identities remained hidden in silence. Their service mattered. Their lives mattered. Their stories deserve to be remembered.
We invite members of the community, allies, veterans, families, and supporters to join Meriden Pride in this meaningful march of remembrance, visibility, and respect.
Together, we honor their legacy and ensure they are never forgotten.
