📚✨ SURPRISE! We added something new to our next Book Swap… ✨📚If you’ve been to one of our book swaps before, you already know how much fun they are and this time we’re leveling it up.
✨ We’re adding LOCAL AUTHORS! ✨
We have several Kentucky authors already lined up and are waiting to hear back from a few more. Once everyone is confirmed, we’ll be sharing spotlights on each author and the books they’ll have available.
Here’s how the day will work:
📚 This is NOT a ticketed event
Just like our last swap, participation is based on the books you bring.
🔞 Adults only event
This swap is 18 and up. We are already working on a children’s themed book swap for this summer when school is out, so stay tuned for that.
📍 Start at Mercantile Coffee & Feed from 3:00–4:00 PM
Drop off your gently loved books
Grab a drink, a snack, craft, mingle, and hang out
Our team will sort and organize everything for the swap
📍 Then head to The Oaks Event Venue, Grand Room
Once everything is ready, we’ll make an announcement letting everyone know it’s time to head over and start swapping and shopping.
We’ve rented the Grand Room at The Oaks to make room for a larger crowd and our new author addition.
It’s a quick walk from the back of the coffee shop.
📚 How the swap works
You’ll receive one ticket per book you bring
When you’re ready to pick out your new to you reads, helpers at The Oaks will collect your tickets at checkout
✍️ What’s new this time
Meet and mingle with local authors
Purchase books and have them signed
Shop bookish vendors
Stay for a fun, casual conversation with the authors about books, writing, and life

If you need handicap accommodations, just let us know. We’re happy to help.
☕️🍷 Food and drinks welcome
You are welcome to take food and drinks from Mercantile to The Oaks, including alcohol purchased here. Just make sure it’s in one of our designated downtown alcohol district cups. Mercantile staff can help with that.
