Join us on Saturday, February 1 from 10:30 am to noon at the Sioux City Public Museum for Mentors, Mothers and Movers: The Legacy of Black Women in Sioux City, an engaging panel discussion and educational program.This event will feature a film by local historian Jim Tillman, followed by a panel discussion highlighting the significant contributions of Black women in Sioux City. The discussion will focus on those who have made impactful strides as trailblazers, mentors, and leaders in founding and growing local organizations. Audience members are encouraged to share their own stories of Black women who have left a lasting legacy through their lives and lessons.
The panel will be moderated by Margarite Hardnett Reinert, Chair of the Social Work Department at Briar Cliff University, and will include Sioux City community members Linnea Fletcher, Treyla Lee, and others.
