BIO:
Donna Reiter Brandwein is a 1982 graduate of the Master's program at UWM's ITP. Her BA from Loyola University of Chicago was in Acting, English and Education. She has worked as a staff interpreter in educational settings from K-12 and post-secondary education and training sites as well as freelancing both virtually and in real life for medical, religious, social services, government, mental health, business and political settings. She joined with 2 other interpreters for 7 years to create and run a non-profit SIGN ON STAGE (SOS) that provided interpreters, informational newsletters and technical support for many of the professional theaters in the Chicagoland area. Becoming a designated interpreter 18 years ago has been a wonderfully fulfilling chapter in her work. After mentoring for many years, her latest effort is MENTORING IN THE MIDDLE, a pilot project for interpreters mid-career who desire one-on-one mentoring or experienced interpreters wishing to mentor others. RID certified with a CSC, CI and CT, she is also licensed to work in 5 states.
