About this Event

In this blended training model, participants complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course, and participate in a 5-6 hour, Instructor-led training. This Instructor-led Training will be held in a virtual platform.

About Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

Participants will learn how to respond with the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan (ALGEE):

WHAT IT COVERS • Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges. • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges. • How to interact with a person in crisis. • How to connect a person with help. • Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care

About F&CS MHAT program

The Family & Children’s Service (F&CS) Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) program provides evidence-based trainings focused on mental health and substance use awareness and suicide prevention. Our goal is to empower individuals with the understanding, language, and tools necessary to recognize and respond to mental health crises.
