About this Event
Men's Book Club
This is more than just a gathering to discuss books; it's a dedicated space where men come together to explore the complexities of masculinity and personal growth.
In this circle, we cultivate an environment that encourages vulnerability, connection, and authenticity. Here, you’ll find support as we delve into powerful literature that invites us to reflect on our lives and embrace our true selves.
We recognize that understanding masculinity in today's world can be challenging. This book club serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue and shared experiences, allowing us to develop a clearer blueprint for navigating the intricacies of manhood.
Join us as we engage with thought-provoking books that challenge traditional narratives and inspire deeper conversations about what it means to be a man. Together, we will explore our journeys, share insights from our readings, and foster a sense of belonging among like-minded men.
The magic of this group comes not just from the books we read but from the connections we build.
Logisitics:
Each book that we start we will dedicate 8 weeks to. Every Thursday we will meet in person (location TBD) beginning on Thursday Ocotber, 2nd 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Then from there we will meet every Thursday for the next 6-8 Thursdays depending on book size and meetings needed.
- First book to start us off: Iron John: A Book About Men by Robert Bly
- Limited to 15 participants
- $20 covers all meetings
About Me:
My name is Nate Rubio and for the past three years, I have been on a profound journey exploring what it truly means to be a man. Raised in an environment where traditional models of masculinity felt abrasive and unappealing, I found myself questioning the societal norms around manhood. This quest led me to participate in three men's groups, where I uncovered insights and perspectives that were previously unknown to me.
Through these experiences, I sought answers to my questions about masculinity and discovered that many men share similar struggles. My exploration into the realm of men's work introduced me to invaluable mentors and resources that illuminated my path.
Now, in this journey, I feel called to help other men navigate this often elusive realm of masculinity. I aim to create a space where we can engage in meaningful conversations, share experiences, and find models of manhood that resonate with our authentic selves. Together, we can foster vulnerability, connection, and growth as we redefine what it means to be men in today’s world.
Looking forward to seeing you.
