As she uncovers the link between declining estrogen and mental health, the film expands into a broader investigation of one of the most neglected areas of women's health. Kjeldsen follows three scientists whose research reveals the profound consequences of menopause, even as they struggle against chronic underfunding and institutional resistance. Interweaving scientific inquiry with personal stories from women worldwide, archival footage, and animation, the documentary exposes enduring taboos and patriarchal biases, while questioning whether medical knowledge reinforces ideas of fragility - or opens new paths toward understanding the body, equality, and aging.
