In this hands-on workshop, you will learn the running stitch and other hand-sewing techniques to securely close rips in woven fabrics like denim, linen, and cotton. We’ll also teach you simple embroidery stitches—such as the satin stitch or lazy daisy—to turn unsightly spots into decorative floral or geometric designs. Plus, discover how to apply fabric patches (both sewn-on and iron-on) to cover larger holes or stains using contrasting colors and textures for a unique look.
Bring 1–2 clean garments in need of repair (jeans, shirts, or tote bags work best), as well as any "beloved scraps" or special patches you’d like to incorporate. All other tools, including needles, thread, and practice fabric, will be provided.
This class is perfect for absolute beginners and experienced sewists alike. If you can thread a needle, you can learn to save your clothes! No prior experience is required.
Join us to gain the skills, confidence, and inspiration to keep your favorite pieces in rotation for years to come. Cost is $20-25.
