Be immersed in the rich and melodic choral works of nineteenth-century German Romanticism. Excerpts from Mendelssohn’s majestic Mass for Double Choir are complemented by selections from Brahms’s much-loved Sieben Lieder such as the achingly poetic Waldesnacht.Anton Bruckner’s sublime Os justi and Locus iste are joined by the serene harmonies of Josef Rheinberger’s Abendlied and Stefan Claas’s tender arrangement of Maria durch ein Dornwald ging.
Small unaccompanied chamber choir Southern Consort of Voices is directed by Daniel Kelly through this programme of beautiful music in the lovely light-filled warm space of St Joseph’s Chapel. The Chapel is nestled behind the Rattray Street Cathedral in the grounds of Trinity Catholic College.
