Menagerie Exotique

The opening reception for the imaginative art of Jane Falkenberg and Jamie Zerr-Lockwood.
Falkenberg’s work evokes mysticism, nocturnal activity and tales of danger in the natural world. Magnificent animals with remarkable features, as well as creatures drawn from legend, are reimagined into compelling narratives. These works are painted with lilting precision and harmonious, richly colored compositions.
Lockwood’s captivating artwork has animals of land, sea and air embark on fanciful adventures. Umbrellaed gold fish, birds of all kinds, feathers leaves and fungi combined in surreal ways with forest friends and found objects combined with forms by her own hands make for fun discovery.
Reoccurring and uncommon characters are presented in ways only Lockwood could envision, painted in decisive dimensional renderings, often in wonderfully peculiar settings.
