Prairie Tavern is opening its doors to something truly special — Dementia Friendly Clark County’s new Memory Café beginning October 2 and every 1st Friday, 10–12. A Memory Café is a welcoming, judgment‑free social gathering for people living with dementia or changes in memory, along with the care partners who support them. It’s not a lecture, not a medical appointment, and not a support group — it’s a fun, relaxed place to connect.
Memory Cafés offer:
Social time where everyone is understood and included
Interactive activities like music, art, storytelling, trivia, or gentle movement
A safe space where no one is asked about diagnosis or abilities
Peer connection with others who “get it”
Light refreshments and a warm, community feel
These cafés are part of a growing national movement designed to reduce isolation and increase joy for people living with dementia and their care partners.
