The Honolulu Zoological Society invites the community to join us in celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of renowned orangutan conservationist Dr. Birutė Galdikas during a special memorial gathering at the Honolulu Zoo.

The memorial will be held on Saturday, July 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on the Zoo's Triangle Lawn. Family, friends, conservationists, zoo supporters, and members of the public are welcome to attend this free community event.

Dr. Galdikas devoted more than five decades to the study and protection of orangutans and their rainforest habitat in Borneo. As one of the world's foremost primatologists, her groundbreaking research transformed our understanding of orangutans while inspiring generations of conservationists around the globe.
