Dear Arlene Francis Center Family,Many of you are aware that our co-founder and long time leader Martin Hamilton lost his brief but spirited battle with cancer this past September 1. The AFC has been working with Martin’s large and extended family to plan a Celebration of Life so that his many friends can join in saying farewell to our dear friend. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, November 10, 2024 and join us in celebrating Martin for a life well-lived in service to his beloved family and community, including that of the Arlene Francis Center. Details for the Celebration are still being finalized and will be published as we get closer to the November 10 date. Please let us know if you can join us by following this link so that we are prepared to welcome all who can attend.
When details are finalized they will be emailed to the list of those who have registered through this link. Your personal information will not be used or shared for any other purpose. Martin was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on November 29, 1949. The 9th of 12 children born to Louis Ashton and Margaret Prendergast Hamilton, Martin was deeply loved and respected by his close, larger-than-life and raucous family. Those who knew Martin understood what an extraordinary son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and human being that he was. While our hearts are broken by his loss, his many contributions to the world and his memories
give us all comfort. Martin is survived by his sons, Brenden, Trever, Dillon, and grandchildren Dinea, Naliyah and Sage, as well as his siblings Alan, Bill, Marc, Stephanie, Jim, Louis, and an army of nieces, nephews and friends.
