Every year, VFW Post 2591 leads the Memorial Day Flag Placement at Crown Hill Cemetery, where volunteers come together to place more than 1,000 American flags on the headstones of veterans laid to rest there.
This annual tradition is one small way we honor and remember the men and women who served our country. Each flag represents a veteran, a life of service, and a reminder that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
We are looking for volunteers to help us continue this tradition. The more people who assist, the stronger the show of respect from our great community.
After the flags are placed, a free breakfast will be provided for volunteers at the Knights of Columbus.
Come out, bring a friend, and help us honor those who served.
