Restoration of the 1963 Schlicker OrganSince its installation more than 60 years ago, the Schlicker pipe organ has captured the musical attention and creative imagination of generations of Poets and Memorial Chapel guests. Now, this majestic member of the Whittier College Music Department needs restoration to keep its pipes singing beautifully. As we kick off the fundraising in zest, please join us for the first of our events. Professional organists and musicians will perform selections from film. There will also be improvised scorings of two silent short films, including one shot on the Whittier College Campus in 1917. Tickets are $25 each and every dollar goes towards the Whittier College Memorial Chapel Organ Restoration Fund. Come walk the red carpet and enjoy a delightful afternoon of organ music. The concert will be followed by a casual reception with traditional movie treats. We hope to see you there! Location: First Friends Church, 13205 Philadelphia Street, Whittier CA 90601.
