The Crowded Bookshelf is resurrecting Memento Mori Book Club! We will be kicking things off again in August. Meetings will be taking place the third Thursday of every month at Gilded Goat Brewing in Midtown starting at 6pm. Meetings are free to attend and you are not obligated to come to every meeting. About this book club:
Despite the very dour name, Memento Mori is a book club with a death positive mission to draw back the veil around the funeral industry, remove the stigma of discussing death and dying, and help individuals overcome death anxiety. This group is for those with a healthy and active morbid curiosity, future morticians, and death enthusiasts.The reading list will include fiction and non-fiction books that explore the history of the funeral industry, pre-planning for your own funeral, themes of grief and the afterlife, and much more. If you have an interest in the morbid and macabre, are trying to overcome death anxiety, or have a general curiosity about the funeral industry, you’ve come to the right book club.
