Cub Scout Leaders,
Spring is right around the corner, which means it’s time to begin setting the stage for a strong fall recruiting season! We will be hosting our School Night for Scouting Kickoff Orientation on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Edwards Congregational UCC (3420 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, IA 52807) starting at 9:00AM and we hope your pack will be part of it. This orientation is designed to share helpful tools, new ideas, and proven strategies so your unit can confidently welcome new families into Cub Scouting. Together, we’ll talk about creating a simple marketing plan for your pack, making great first impressions, and ensuring families feel valued and excited from the moment they arrive.
To maximize recruitment, packs that thrive are the ones that are ready to receive new families—meaning they have an annual program plan and budget they can proudly share, and a welcoming atmosphere that shows parents their child will grow, have fun, and belong. This orientation will support you in building that environment. We ask that at least one leader from each pack attend, as the information shared will directly impact our collective success in reaching more youth and strengthening the future of Scouting in our council.
