Join us in the Thomas Planetarium for a presentation about our closest star, the sun. In this presentation, discover the complex interactions that cause space weather and the aurora, and learn how to identify and analyze sunspots. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Meet the Speaker
Tom Mangelsdorf is a NASA Solar System Ambassador, cofounder of the Southcentral Alaska Astronomical Society, and a member of the CV-Helios Network. For over 40 years, Tom has pointed telescopes at the night sky, but it was the 2012 Venus transit that sparked his interest in the sun.
