All belligerents of the First World War expressed their patriotism in art. Germany, with strong traditions of fine engraving and numismatics – the study and collection of coins – produced hundreds of different “war medallions” to spread popular propaganda and commemorate major figures and battles.
Examine the Museum and Memorial’s recent acquisition of such medallions with Dr. Chris Juergens, Senior Curator, in a presentation exclusively for Museum Members.
