For one evening only, the Music Makers will transport you through Shakespeare's timeless works, featuring the breathtaking vocals of Sandy Cheng, Wong Jun Wen and Louis Ong, accompanied by Zhang Chi on the piano. Begin with Thomas Arne's delightful settings of nature and Shakespearean verse, followed by Schubert's romantic and lively tributes to the Bard. Gerald Finzi continues the theme with "Let Us Garlands Bring," a collection of Shakespeare's most cherished songs.
After intermission, be captivated by the passionate intensity of Gounod's "Roméo et Juliette" and the dramatic power of Verdi's "Macbeth." Conclude the evening with the playful charm of Verdi's "Falstaff," a fitting finale that brings Shakespeare's influence full circle with wit, love and laughter.
