Lounges Entertainment bring the national touring tribute group -- MELLENCOUGAR -- back to the Hobart Art Theater for the first time in over five years.

MELLENCOUGAR is a group of musicians who play the music of Heartland U.S.A. with a primary focus on the classic songbook of John Cougar Mellencamp -- the hits, the deep cuts, and some surprises. See and hear the band who have rocked John's hometown of Seymour, Indiana itself on past tours.

MELLENCOUGAR is a group comprised of top Midwest musicians who share a deep appreciation of the danceable poetry of Indiana's own JOHN MELLENCAMP.

MELLENCOUGAR is the only "Tribute To John Mellencamp" that has actually featured members of John's actual band in the performing in the line-up over during it's 20-year career, along with some very special celebrity guests, including: Toby Myers, Moe Z. MD, Bobby Clark, Mimi Mapes, and John's brother Joe Mellencamp.

Under the leadership of front man/vocalist DON WILSON this high energy group has performed all across America, including repeat visits to John's own hometown of Seymour, Indiana on past tours.

The shared experiences described in John's lyrics bring the audience and band together while singing songs about your youthful and rebellious days in songs like "Hurt So Good," "Ain't Even Done With The Night," and "I Need A Lover." Other songs like "Check It Out," "Small Town," "Rain On The Scarecrow" and "Jack And Diane," are a reminder of what is important in life and how to recognize it.
As the fiddle and guitar sing along with the bass drum beats, patriotic-themed songs like "R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.," "Our Country" and "Pink Houses," drive audiences to dance and sing along as while celebrating the greatest country on earth -- The United States of America -- which this year celebrates its 250th Birthday.
Along with serving up all the John Mellencamp songs one hopes for in a tribute show of this kind, Mellencougar sometimes gives the audience a special tip of the hat to the late, great Tom Petty by inserting into the repertoire a song like "American Girl" and "I Won't Back Down."

Along with being a headline attraction at top theaters, fairs and festivals across the nation, MELLENCOUGAR has been invited to share stages with many top national acts, including Eddie Money, The Spin Doctors, Henry Lee Summer, STYX, Loverboy, Night Ranger, Jamey Johnson, and others.
